About us

The THTC Continuing Education center is committed to the guiding goal of promoting lifetime learning and achieving academic excellence.
It provides: (1) in-service training, (2) human resource development, (3) community based continuing education, and (4) industry-university cooperative training programs. To meet the challenge of globalization and the world-wide expansion of a knowledge economy, the Continuing Education Center is working continuously to improve its teaching standards, curriculum, software and hardware facilities, and to expand its course offerings in professional development and knowledge acquisition. The Continuing Education Center has implemented a vigorous management by objectives and performance assessment system which ensures that it is managed effectively and functions at the highest level.

Our commitment is to enhance the quality of the labor force by strengthening their professional knowledge and helping them develop second expertise. We help to provide vocational training for the government and the institutions in the industrial sector such as Bureau of Employment and Vocational Training, Bureau of Foreign Trade, Industrial Development Bureau, Hualien County Government, and manufacturers in the Science-Based Industrial Park.
Besides typical curriculum, vocational education also assumes the role of promoting extension education. Our college aims to fulfill these goals by setting up an extension education center and dedicating many available resources to support continuing education and lifelong learning. Specific measures include offering various supporting curriculums such:
1.Promote in-service training by encouraging lifetime learning and academic excellence.
2.Build a creative platform for initiating industry-university cooperative training programs.
3.Establish a training center for professional, managerial, and practical knowledge development.
4.Provide a wide variety of community based opportunities for continuing education.
5.Create an interactive networking mechanism among various teaching/learning entities, and encourage teamwork and cooperation between organizations.
Future goals includes:
1.Offering more credit and non-credit courses and recruiting more students, and encouraging each department to seek bilateral cooperation with other institutions.
2.Strengthening collaboration with central and local government in affording continuing education.
3.Broadening the content and scale of social education to attract the influx of the public for reeducation.
